Just telling RumLog you are running a TS-2000 is not the answer unless you don't have to change bands at all. Then it seemed that maybe RumLOG would do the job but it turns out that the workarounds to talk to the Flex are not robust. I did, and pointed me to the "don't ask" on the Web site. Well, it turns out that K1GQ has stated on his website that he will NEVER support Flex, and please don't even ask about it. I assumed that my favorite logging program, SkookumLogger by K1GQ would eventually support the Flex, and it, along with Marcus's SmartSDR for Mac would be EXACTLY what I was looking for. And yes, I can use smartSDR and N1MM, but after 15+ years of Mac, everything in Windows is a struggle.

Yes, I have Bootcamp on my Mac Mini, MacBook Pro, and iMac.

At the very least it has been fun learning all of this new software and the integration of same. The plan for this weekend is to go back to the K3/P3/Skookum logger for the CQ 160 and see if I can decide on Flex/Windows or K3/Mac. I have run Parallels to achieve a virtualized solution but it is a resource hog and results in too much computer fan noise, and slow performance even on a 2019 MacBook Pro. I even purchased ALL the mac and iOS software hoping that the contesting piece would fall into place. Yes, I'm frustrated because I have gone down a path that was not possible initially and thought that it would "work out" eventually. Where does this leave a dyed-in-the-wool Mac guy? Either stick to my K3/P3 which has been relegated to VHF rover, FD, and Portable ops with Skookum on the Mac (and sell the Flex?), or, get a dedicated Win10 box for the shack as the Mini/Bootcamp machine is almost 10 years old and it is time to upgrade anyway.

You should be able to tune around and see stuff on the panadapter, as well as control the radio from Win4k3.Hi Gang, So last year about this time when I bought my Flex 6500 and later, a Maestro, I was fully convinced that by the end of 2020 I'd have super contesting setup using only Mac OS. So now you have Win4K3 working completely. It should now match the signal reception on your radio and the panadapter should show the signal in the center of the passband. Go to the panadapter and hit the Config button in the lower right corner, and set the global offset value you calculated before. The amount off frequency is the global offset. You should be about 6-8 kHz off frequency. Look at the panadapter and tune off of WWV until the signal on the waterfall appears exactly on the center marker.Set the radio to FINE tuning so you have 1 Hz tuning.Tune you radio to WWV in CW mode (10 MHz is usually best for the US).You will have to find the appropriate global offset for your radio now. Once the control window is open, go to the Window menu and hit the SDRplay Panadapter item. Press save and it should connect to the radio.
